||||
|
Hello Resident,
We hope you are well. Here is an update regarding crime and Police activity in Burbage this week.
Reported Crime and Appeals
Report of a burglary to an unoccupied building near Bullfurlong Lane between the 19th and 21st. A small number of items were taken, and damage was caused to the property. Three suspects were identified and detained. They are currently being dealt with.
If you have teenage children, please ensure they are not going onto private property or causing damage whilst they are out “exploring”. This can result in action such as arrest, civil claims and a criminal record.
Report from Lutterworth Road at 00:10 on the morning of the 22nd, where a suspect was seen inside a residential property. No signs of damage to property and nothing taken, but it is suspected the person was after car keys. If you have any CCTV in the area of Lutterworth Road/Workhouse Lane, please have a look and get in touch. Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk 26000363053
We have received complaints regarding the use of E-Scooters. If you have an E-scooter or are considering buying one for yourself or a child, please ensure you are aware they are illegal on a public road/pavement. Please also be aware of the laws regarding E-Bikes.
Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
As part of our residential burglary/vehicle crime pro-active work, we have visited the area of Herald Way and multiple roads around the area, where we completed door knocks and leaflet drops. We spoke to many residents and supported with items such as alarmed padlocks, window alarms and RFID car wallets. It was a really worthwhile few hours and we will be completing this work in many other locations over the coming weeks and months.
We have also continued with our patrols around key locations including local parks and areas raised as concerns by local residents. Concerns include bullying, vehicle related nuisance and suspicious activity.
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
Please be mindful of who is about, whilst leaving windows open may be needed during the hot weather, please also keep in mind the opportunities this may give to those less honest people about. Please ensure high value items such as cash and jewellery are well hidden and try to ensure all doors are locked when you are not about. Consider window restrictors and alarms.
We will have a crime prevention table at the Burbage Big Bash this Sunday (12:00-17:00 Sunday 28th June) Britannia Fields, so please pop along and have a chat if there is anything we can support with.
If you need any support with crime reduction items, please get in touch, I have attached the crime reduction catalogue if you wish to take a look. Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk
Thank you and take care.
